Public Image / Vintage Shopping

I have to admit, it's been a while since I've gone thrift store shopping. Since today was such a rainy day, I thought it would be perfect to spend the afternoon looking for vintage goods. I checked out a couple of different thrift stores around my neighborhood, but I ended up being super disappointed... When you're shopping vintage, it takes a tad bit of patience.
The last stop I made was at a new vintage shop called, Public Image. I had driven by this hidden gem a couple of times this week and had been dying to check it out. They've only been open for a short period of time, but I found so many pieces that I wanted to take home with me. Here are some images of what I did buy... Super cute vintage stuff at a very affordable price. Can you believe they actually have authentic accessories from Woodstock 1969! When your done getting your shop-on at Public Image, you can head next door to Radio Active Records... It's a really cool record store that I've been obsessed with since I moved to Florida four years ago.

The Orchid Boutique ~ Braids & Bikinis event.

Holly and I attended the Braids & Bikinis event last night at The Orchid Boutique. I have truly found the number one spot for swim wear shopping in all of Miami. If you're looking for a swim suit that can only be pulled off by the bold and beautiful, then you simply need to know all about the swim wear that The Orchid Boutique carries in their South Beach store location and their online shop, www.theorchidboutique.com.

If fringe is you're thing, then check out L*Space collection. Where you will find an overload of fringe in a variety of colors. This collection is now one of Holly's favorites after doing make up for the L*Space collection during MBFW Miami.

The Webster Miami Collection for Target

Fell in love today with The Webster Miami collection for Target. There were several pieces that I wanted, but I decided to go with this pink dress along with a bedtime romper. The romper is very soft and feminine, perfect for lounging around the house in front of my boyfriend, while trying to look effortlessly cute. I really want to go back and get some of the accessories and intimates.

I have to admit, I found out about The Webster Miami collection at Target by mistake. I had no idea that they were going to be collaborating. Pretty odd since I'm such a Webster fan. I immediately tweeted, “I had no idea that The Webster put out a Target collection. Time to check it out! @ShopTheWebster." Come to find out, as I talked to the lady in the dressing room department, the collection just launched today. Right place at the right time. Thumbs up! This explains why they actually had my size and it wasn't already picked through.

Lighten Up!

Concealer? Check! Foundation? Check! Highlighter? Hmm...
Sorry ladies, but I have another staple to add to your makeup arsenal: a highlighter. I never thought it was necessary as long as you used a decent concealer until I tried Givenchy's Mister Light Instant Light Corrective Pen. Oh. My. Goodness. Amazing!!! Where do I even begin?!?!? Highlighters reflect light (help to diminish fine lines) and brighten (lighten up dark areas). The texture is a creamy decadence, and it stays that way. I applied it with my ring finger (I prefer to use my finger rather than use the applicator) under my eyes wherever I noticed any darkness. I also applied the highlighter around my mouth area where I have slight wrinkles. (emphasis on the word "slight")

Apply Mister Light after foundation and concealer. You may apply powder before or after---OR none at all. This product has little to no creasing! If it does happen to crease, use your finger to smooth it out. It also looks great on top of BB Cream and no powder if you're going for a minimal look.
There are many luxury highlighters out on the market. The leading one is YSL Touché Éclat. I recommend Givenchy Mister Light over YSL. Try it out. You'll immediately see why.

After reading Kristin's recent blog about having difficulties removing waterproof mascara, I had to follow it up with my favorite way to remove makeup. Pond's Cold Cream. This is one of the few products that I buy at the drugstore. (I'm a makeup snob.) I've been using it for as long as I've been wearing makeup, and I'm a true blue fan. It removes EVERY trace of makeup and leaves your skin feeling soft and fresh. Use a soft tissue or toilet paper and dip it into the cold cream. Gently rub it over your makeup to remove it. Repeat this process until no traces are left. I only use Pond's Cold Cream on my eyes and lips, but it may used all over the face if you'd like. Once my eye makeup and lip color is removed, I proceed to wash my entire face with my cleanser of choice. I highly recommend that you try it. It's inexpensive, and you're going to love it!

#Lash Genius

Recently, I received a tube of Lash Genius, a brand new product from, Anastasia of Beverly Hills. I love the summer time and I live for pool party's, but I hate water proof mascara!! It's always so dry feeling and hard on my delicate little lashes and it's such a pain to scrub off at the end of the day. This being said, I have found the cure to my problem... Lash Genius! I've worn my Lash Genius twice now, and I am very satisfied with this product.

It's absolutely amazing. While still being able to wear my favorite mascara, I now have the option of water proofing my lashes almost instantly. Just brush a little Lash Genius onto you already applied mascara and magically your mascara is water proof! I know girls in Miami are going to fall in love with this product!
