Officials in Nepal say monsoon rains have triggered landslides Friday in two villages, killing six people, with 10 others believed to be buried in the debris.
Authorities in Purtingkada, about 320 kilometers west of the capital, Kathmandu, say three bodies have been recovered from the landslide. They say 10 others are missing and are thought to be buried in the rubble.
The Associated Press reports police rescuers are heading to the village, which is accessible only by foot and is a six-hour trek from the nearest town.
Separately, officials say three people were killed and five others were injured in a landslide in Nuwakot Thanksingh village, about 80 kilometers north of the capital.
