Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony’s Reality Show Still A Go

 
Despite Friday’s announcement that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony had decided to end their seven-year marriage, the couple’s upcoming reality talent show, “Q’Viva! The Chosen,” is still a go, Access Hollywood has learned.
The show, which is being produced by Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment, will be produced as planned, sources told Access on Saturday.
Additionally, a spokesman for XIX Entertainment told Deadline – which was first to report the reality series news – that the power pair are “committed” to the show.
“The show goes on!” the spokesman added.
“Q’Viva!,” which chronicles J.Lo and Marc’s search for new talent across 21 Latin American countries, is not yet completed, according to Deadline, with the soon-to-be-exes set to shoot the series later this year.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Jennifer and Marc announced their surprising split on Friday.
“We have decided to end our marriage,” the pair said in a joint statement to Access. “This was a very difficult decision. We have come to amicable conclusions on all matters.”
“It is a painful time for all involved,” the statement continued, “and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
The split will come as a shock to many who saw Jennifer and Marc appearing happy and in love as the reality TV show judge and singer joined her husband on stage as she danced during his performance on the “American Idol” season finale.
Jennifer and Marc have two children – twins Emme and Max, now 3.

LOS ANGELES: Superstar singer and actress Jennifer Lopez will split with her musician and actor husband, Marc Anthony, after seven years of marriage, the couple revealed to People magazine in a joint statement Friday.

"This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters," they said in the statement.

The couple had dated briefly in the 1990s and then rekindled their romance in 2004. They were married in a June 2004 secret ceremony at Lopez's Beverly Hills home.

They are parents to 3-year-old twins Max and Emme, who were born in February 2008.

"It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time," the statement added.

Also known as J.Lo, Lopez made her leading lady movie debut in "Selena," in 1997, and went on to become a Grammy-nominated singer.

Her first studio album, "On the 6," was released in 1999 and spawned the number one hit single, "If You Had My Love."

Anthony has sold more than 11 million records, kicking off his career as a salsa musician and Spanish-language performer. His 1999 hit single "I Need to Know" was his first English-language crossover success.

This year the 41-year-old Lopez topped People's magazine's annual list of the most beautiful people.

After taking time off to become a mother in 2008, the Bronx, New York-born, Puerto Rican actress returned to the public eye earlier this year with a star turn as one of three talent judges on "American Idol." She also released her seventh studio album, "Love?" in April.

She is scheduled to star in next year's film adaptation of the best-selling book, "What to Expect When You're Expecting," which will begin shooting in this summer, according to Lopez's website.

The New York-born Anthony currently plays Detective Nick Renata on the TNT drama TV show, "Hawthorne." According to his website, he will begin a US concert tour in September of this year.

In 2006, the couple co-starred in "El Cantante," a biopic about salsa legend Hector Lavoe. Anthony played Lavoe and Lopez played Lavoe's wife, Nilda "Puchi" Roman.

As recently as May, Lopez and Anthony had been scheduled to film a new show together where they would travel to 21 Latin American countries in search of talent, according to People magazine's website. (AFP)

Country superstar Tim McGraw files countersuit against Curb Records seeking freedom

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Attorneys for country music star Tim McGraw have filed a countersuit against Curb Records, seeking a ruling that would release him from his 20-year contract with Mike Curb.
The countersuit comes 10 days after Curb sued McGraw for breach of contract over the unreleased album “Emotional Traffic.” McGraw says he turned it in last fall.
The label claims he did so outside the provisions of his contract and has missed a deadline, meaning he should be on the hook for two more albums now for Curb rather than one.
McGraw is seeking his freedom from the contract with Curb as of July 23 and monetary damages for breach of contract and for interfering with McGraw’s business relationships by withholding “Emotional Traffic.”

American Idol' on the scene for finale results show: Prom dresses, Tom Jones lyrics, and exhaustion, oh my!

Where is probably the one and only place in the world where you can find Midwestern ladies in prom/bridesmaid dresses, people speaking a wide variety of languages, poster board signs covered in blinking lights, dozens of cowboy hats, and a mish-mash of the oddball celebrities? The American Idol season finale, of course! I was there last night as the show went down at downtown LA’s Nokia Theater, and the only way to really describe what was going on is to call it exactly what it was: a crazy spectacle. I’m not exaggerating: Moms were really prowling around in prom/bridesmaid dresses! (True: Things such as this make me really happy.) I love that, for some, the American Idol finale is something on par with a seminal life event like a wedding. To each his own, I suppose! But I digress. On to my other observations…
I couldn’t help but spend a little time outside of the theater before the show started, just so that I could soak up some of the American Idol realness that was oozing out everywhere. There were, of course, folks like Ace Young and Naima Adedapo and David Archuleta padding into the venue on a red carpet while waving to the throngs, but more interesting than all that, really, were the folks who were there to watch the festivities, the adoring fans. They’re a fascinating set, those who’ll brave the American Idol live show over just enjoying the madness from the comfort of their own living rooms. For instance, did you know that American Idol splits households? I watched one pair of ladies, who appeared to be sisters, duke it out over who should win the crown, Lauren or Scotty, while standing in line to get into the show. “We’re still friends,” said one, holding a Lauren sign up in front of the other, who was holding a Scotty sign. “We still love each other.” Really, this show could split your sisterly bond? Wow. A friend of theirs nearby, though, tried her best to dose the flames: “They’re both going to go far, no matter what.” That remains to be seen, of course.
After I amused myself with people watching for a while, I headed in to Nokia to what, honestly, ended up being one of the most entertainingly random concerts I’ve been to in quite a lot time: Lil’ John and…TLC! Tony Bennett! TOM JONES! Beyoncé — twice! In fact, the whole Scotty-or-Lauren thing seemed almost like a footnote to all the performances and other festivities that were going on. I’ll give you a run-down of what I observed from the belly of the beast — the truly few things you might not have seen on TV — but I will warn you first: The seat I was in wasn’t all that close to the stage, so the observations are pithy and short. Many times, I found myself watching the jumbo screens next to the stage that were broadcasting what was happening. As my colleague Adam B. Vary explained in his on-the-scene recap last night, EW was relegated rather far back. (The nerve!) Watching on TV might have been a better experience! But alas, here’s what it was like being at last night’s American Idol season finale:
