'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: Does controversy overshadow Gaga's talent?

http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2011/images/04/22/t1larg.kate.diana.jpgfor her single “Judas” has finally been released. There has been a lot of speculation about how shocking and potentially offensive it would be. In the video, Gaga stars as Mary Magdalene leading a motorcycle gang on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
When I interviewed Bill Donahue, President of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, back in April, I asked him what his issue with the “Judas” song was. (I can only imagine what he thinks of the video today!)
Donahue told me, “I’m not going to sit here and pretend she doesn’t know what she’s trying to do. I mean, look, it’s not the worst thing in the world. But she’s trying to tweak Catholic sensibilities. Let her try it on Muslims and see what she does then at that point.”

So today we’re asking if this controversy could hurt Gaga. I have always felt that it’s a package deal with her. She is who she is – and needs to just keep doing what she’s doing. There are no real signs that all this controversy has hurt her at all.
