NFL roundup: Jets' Mark Sanchez wanted to fight coach Rex Ryan

NEW YORK -- Mark Sanchez was fightin' mad when Rex Ryan considered benching him last season.
The New York Jets quarterback tells GQ magazine for a story in its September issue that he was angry when Ryan told reporters he would think about sitting him last December after a poor performance.
"I wanted to fight him," Sanchez told the magazine. "I was really mad."
Ryan wanted to give backup Mark Brunell extra snaps during practice after Sanchez struggled in a loss to Miami. After agreeing, Sanchez tells the magazine he pushed Brunell away when he walked into the huddle. When offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer reminded him Ryan wanted Brunell to take snaps, Sanchez snapped back.
"I was like, 'He can come tell me,' " Sanchez said. "And (Schottenheimer) is like, 'Come on, man, don't do that.' "
HOUSTON 20, N.Y. JETS 16: Chris Ogbonnaya caught a touchdown pass from Matt Leinart and ran for the winning score in the fourth quarter for the host Texans. The regular starters for both sides played only the first quarter. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez completed six of seven passes.
GREEN BAY: Linebacker Desmond Bishop didn't get to join his teammates Friday at the White House because he forgot his ID on the team plane. Security wasn't willing to make an exception to let him in without identification, so he had to stay on the team bus. Bishop said he called his family, updated his Twitter account and took a nap while his teammates met President Barack Obama.
NEW ORLEANS: Right tackle Jon Stinchcomb, who has started for the Saints since coach Sean Payton arrived in 2006 and was a Pro Bowl selection in 2009, was released.
SAN FRANCISCO: Quarterback Daunte Culpepper worked out for some 30 minutes in front of the 49ers brass -- and tight end Nate Lawrie called it a crisp, impressive session. The 49ers had not said if the former Lion had made the team.
NOTEBOOK: Hall of Fame coach Marv Levy is trying his hand at fiction. The former Buffalo Bills coach and general manager has completed a novel titled "Between The Lies," due out in September. The story features two fictional teams en route to the Super Bowl with the integrity of the game hanging in the balance.
