There’s big money out there, the biggest paydays of the year for both Powerball and Florida Lotto.
A Florida Lotto payout of $37 million is for grabs in tonight's drawing. It hasn’t hit since May 28, when a Hollywood man won $35 million.
Meanwhile, Powerball is officially listed at $220 million but that's based on current ticket sales. Last-minute buys are expected to make the jackpot soar past the earlier high of $221 million won on April. 6.
Winners can take the advertised jackpot amount in 30 annual installments, or a one-time, lump-sum cash option that's between half and two-third of the advertised haul. But to get the cash option, jackpot prizes must be claimed within the first 60 days after the winning draw.
The drawings are during the 11 p.m. newscast on WPLG-Ch. 10 or at flalottery.com. Check back here Thursday morning to see if anyone hit or get SMS text alerts via Sun-Sentinel.com/alerts.
