Fleetwood Mac Star Stevie Nicks Duets with Maroon 5’s Adam Levine

Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks performed a duet with Adam Levine, front man for the band Maroon 5 at the Hollywood Bowl on Monday night. The pair sang the 1981 hit “Leather and Lace,” a song Nicks originally recorded with Don Henley.
Levine’s admiration and adoration of Nicks was clear; according to Entertainment Weekly, he said, “This is one of those moments where you don’t actually realize what you’re doing until you do it. What I’d like to do is sing this next song with one of my favorite artists of all time, and I’m sure one of yours too, God, do I love this woman.”
Levine, 32, a coach on the reality television series, “The Voice,” often voiced his appreciation of Nicks on the show.
Nicks, 63, had written the song for Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, according to the Daily News; however,  it was  actually released on “Bella Donna,” her 1981 debut solo album. “Bella Donna” sold 8 million albums.
Fleetwood Mac began in 1967 and Nicks joined the band in the mid-70’s, along with Lindsey Buckingham. The group’s well-known songs include “Go Your Own Way,” “Dreams,” “Don’t Stop” and “You Make Loving Fun.” Nicks’ “Bella Donna” included the songs "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around," "Leather and Lace" and "Edge of Seventeen (Just Like the White Winged Dove).” As a solo artist, Nicks has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards since 1982. As a member of Fleetwood Mac, she has been nominated for nine Grammy Awards; the group won Album of the Year in 1978 and was honored with a Hall of Fame Award in 2003. Levine’s band Maroon 5 debuted with the album “Songs About Jane” in 2002, featuring the songs “Harder to Breathe,” “She Will Be Loved,” “Sunday Morning” and “This Love.” Their second album, “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long” came out in 2007 and their third, “Hands All Over,” was released in 2010, featuring “Misery” and “Moves Like Jagger.” Maroon 5 won a Grammy Award in 2005 for Best New Artist.
