iLife is NOMORE...Leopard intigrates everything, iLife, iWork... EVERYTHING
that is just the natural progression isn't it?
i think the current iLife suites my needs well, and i can go on using this great software still till next feb. it really is reliable, useful, and still "new" technology...
I really hope it is integrated. :D

He'll probably only tell half the story and you'll have to buy the updated edition to hear it all.
Just read an unauthorized biography - they usually also contain the not so popular details about the person and allow for a look at their dark side.
"The book of Jobs"... sounds so megalomaniac biblical. It probably also defines the tone of the book that the author was "authorized" to use when talking about His Steveness. A side-by-side comparison of "iCon" with "iSteve" might be quite interesting.

Most people wouldn't steal food here, but if violent hoarding can be considered 'looting', then I would say the possibility is high under similar circumstances. By 'violent hoarding' I mean disrespecting one-per-customer policies and cutting in lines with daddy's shotgun on the back. People here are easily freaked out by the crisis-loving media (don't get me started about the swine flu in 2009), and we have very liberal laws on firearms compared to the rest of Europe.
That sounds pretty minor compared to the US. Might I suggest a visit to LA, Chacago, NYC or large southern city so you can get a sense what goes on here?

I can almost swear the initial press release announced this as an "institutional purchase only" product. I was actually surprised when students or teachers claimed they could order it as well. Maybe they just noticed their mistake and pulled it from personal purchase channels.

wow do iSheep ever think their messiah could be full of it? or do they just take his word as if it were etched in stone on the iPad of God? lifelong Mac user here but not an iSheep. :apple:
Jobs: "You don't need to see the internet or make calls. These aren't the Droids you've been looking for."
iSheep: "Move along."
I love the Star Wars reference!!
And I too am not an iSheep. I have a MacBook Pro and love it...am also holding out for the next iMac but I will not get suckered into purchasing a flawed iPhone just because it is an iPhone.
Speaking of Droids...that might be my next phone. I am waiting to see what happens in a few hours. Will it be honest truth about the problem or more Jedi Mind Tricks for the masses?

Korean media just pulls this stuff right out their rear end. I'm not being racist or anything - I'm Korean myself and I'm talking from experience.

This is excellent news! I was so disappointed when I read the reports earlier. I like Justin Long a lot and I feel he fits the 'Mac' part very well. I can't wait to see the new holiday ads he was talking about. :D

Here's hoping for Core 2 Duo iMac's, MacBook (Pro and non-pro). The battery saving/performance qualities of the Core 2 Duo are really exciting :D
As for Leopard 10.5, I hope there's some major advancements in the Finder, i.e. better and more preview options. And as for Spotlight, there's definitely a lot of room for growth, i.e. internet history ala Google Desktop.
I really like what Eric Patterson did with the Faux Leopard screenshot contest, see here: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/apple/apple-os-x-leopard-faux-screenshot-contest-ends-in-multiple-fanboygasm-190146.php

AFAIK, AT&T is the only carrier to have a simple method like this to report trouble spots. What, do you think Verizon actually has a guy walking around the country with a phone attached to his ear asking "Can you hear me now?"

I hope with the release of Leopard OS X doesn't require a reboot for updates or any sort. I'd also like to save my sessions upon shutting down. All the same windows open and in the same place as I left it. Another one would be a more GUI options for the firewall and perhaps an add-on for snort. I know third party tools exist, but I'd like it to be built into the OS. Widgets that can become part of the the desktop background, but not replace it. I'm sure I could make a huge list of improvements, but these are a few that I'd really like to see done.

Um, so my girlfriend and I have both have the iPhone 3G. We have the same tracking issue by virtue of being on iOS 4.x - but at the current highest OS level for this model, 4.2.1, we don't get a "fix?"
Agreed - what about iPhone 3G users, the sorry lot of us that still exist.

Hi Guys,
I wanted to get your opinions on something.
Recently, Apple added a whole bunch of free online seminars on it's seminars page (you can get there from the Hot News page).
In a number of the seminar descriptions, they speak about the "awesome power" of the "Power Mac G5 Quad" (which is true), and they keep calling it "new" on more than one occasion (it's close to a year old now).
This is interested to me since there's speculation that the "Mac Pro" will be unveiled at the WWDC (hoping). The release of these seminars, and the fact that they promote the quad and call it "new", means that:
a) They're desperately trying to sell as many of these machines as possible because they haven't sold enough of them and before their Intel counterparts are released, and/or,
b) The new "Mac Pro" quad will not be coming out until the year end - perhaps only a mid-range "Mac Pro" will be unveiled @ the WWDC.
What do you guys think?
Regards,
Filmguy

But the ability for regular people to come together in a real time of need or crisis is still present.
The real test is how people act when not compelled by crisis.
While it's comforting to know that we can forget about our differences when we fear for our lives, why do we so easily let those differences flare up again and divide us when a crisis subsides?
The weak don't survive.
I don't believe that at all. America is filled with weak people. They seem to be surviving just fine.

What planet are you from?!?!
2-5% market share is "fine" as long as you don't need developers, application programs, component parts for new products (why should Intel, Ati or NVidia sell any of their "hot" new products for very long to such a tiny niche market!), compatibility with other electronic devices (TiVos, printers, cameras, etc.), ... the list goes on and on! (And don't even get into gaming, which still drives alot of computer sales!)
iBorg
I don't know, but Intel seems to be selling Apple all the processors they want, and even are working with them to produce special applications for Apple's needs, NVidea seems to be selling cards to them, too...
Apple has been even more compatible with periperals then Windows ever dreamed of, tho TiVo for some reason IS a hold-out. But then there have always been companies that held out, and Apple gets by just fine.
The gaming market is one Apple apparantly isn't concerned about yet, and probably won't be for a while, at least until they are well into gains in the consumer market... which has more potential than the gamers do.
So, yeah, 5% IS fine, which has been Apple's position for quite a while, after all, aren't they making money for their shareholders hand over fist?
What part of "record sales" isn't clear?
